Connect domain

Connecting a domain is essential for establishing a professional online presence and ensuring your website is easily accessible to your audience.

To connect a domain, choose the statement below that best applies to you.

• I have a domain connected to another Squarespace website

  If you have a domain with Squarespace already, you can move it to your version 7.1 site.

  1. Open up the site where your domain is currently linked

  2. Click Settings > Domains

  3. Click the domain you’d like to move

  4. Scroll down, and click Move Domain to Another Site.

  5. In the pop-up window, click the site you’d like to move it to

  6. Log into the new site, and click Confirm to complete the process.

• I have a domain purchased elsewhere

  If you have a domain purchased elsewhere:

  1. Head to Settings

  2. Click Domains

  3. Click "Use a Domain I Own" and follow the instructions

• I don’t have a domain yet

  To purchase a domain via Squarespace:

  1. Head to Settings

  2. Click Domains

  3. Click "Get a Domain" and follow the instructions.

  If you want to use a third-party domain provider such as GoDaddy, you will need to return to follow the steps under “I have a domain purchased elsewhere" after you have purchased your domain.

  Please note it can take 24 - 72 hours for your domain to process/connect.
