Deleted content
If you’ve accidentally deleted part of your template or made edits you can’t undo, there’s no built-in way to restore the original version.
Squarespace doesn’t offer a one-click reset or full template restore. Once a section or page is deleted and saved, it’s permanent. That’s why it’s your responsibility to regularly back up your template.
We cover how to do this in the Back Up Your Template lesson, and strongly recommend saving all original template sections and pages before making changes.
What you can do if your content has been deleted:
If you no longer have access to your original layout or sections, you have two options:
Option 01: Rebuild using your backups
If you followed the backup steps, you can restore your content manually using saved sections or duplicated pages. This is the quickest way to get back on track.
Option 02: Purchase a reinstallation
If no backups exist, you can purchase a full template reinstallation. This will reset your site with the original template, but you’ll need to re-customize it from scratch.
Please note that maintaining backups is entirely your responsibility. You can read our full terms here.
