Can I use a different logo on mobile vs desktop?
By default, the same logo is used on desktop and mobile, and you can adjust its width on mobile for a better fit. You can also upload a standalone mobile logo by clicking onto your site header/title and scrolling down to “mobile logo image”.
There’s a white box behind my logo - how do I remove it?
That’s usually the file itself. Re-export your logo with a transparent background (PNG/SVG).
Can I undo/redo layout tweaks?
Yes, you can use keyboard shortcuts - Ctrl+Z (on Windows) or Cmd+Z (on Mac) to undo, Ctrl+Shift+Z (on Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Z (on Mac) to redo - this works for all your changes during the current edit session.
What can I change on mobile or desktop views without affecting the other?
You can change per device (Mobile vs Desktop):
Block position, size and alignment (drag/rescale on each view)
Section row count
Stacking/order of blocks
Changes that affect both (shared across devices):
Text and images
Links, buttons’ text, and most block content/settings
Section backgrounds (image/color/video) and most section settings except row count
Can I disable the mobile version and force desktop on smaller devices?
No - Squarespace sites are responsive by design. Instead, fine-tune your Mobile view by changing block sizing/layouts.
How do I reset to the original template fonts and colors?
Your template’s default styles can’t be reset with one button, but you can manually restore them by checking your Original Demo Styles page in your Backup Folder and re-applying the styles, colors and fonts from there.
If you’ve deleted your Original Demo Styles page by mistake, we can manually add the template styles, colors and fonts back in for you - [purchase a re-style here].
I’ve deleted or changed my footer by mistake, can you reset it?
No - Footers are permanently deleted in Squarespace and can’t be restored easily, so we’ll need to do a manual re-installation of the footer on your site — [purchase a footer re-install here].
I’ve deleted a section or page, is there a way to restore it?
No - Once a page or section is deleted in Squarespace, it can’t be recovered from the site. We can re-create it for you via a manual re-installation service — [purchase a page/section re-install here].
To avoid this in future, make quick backups before editing (duplicate pages or save sections) and only publish when you’re happy. For a clear guide, see our video walkthrough or step-by-step guide to creating saved sections and page backups.
